Description
Only at school are physics, chemistry, and computer science different subjects. Today’s modern science is right there at the center of these different subjects. For example, targeted drug delivery is impossible without chemistry, physics and biology, and the creation of new materials and energy-efficient devices is impossible without programming, physics and chemistry. Scientific achievements were almost always the result of a large group of scientists working together. And now, when one research project requires experience and understanding in several different fields of science, the importance of collaboration is especially felt.
On April 17, research staff at the Faculty of Physics and Engineering will hold an online Open Day "Everything is Connected with Everything". They will talk about how interdisciplinary research is conducted and whether one scientist can know everything. Of course, we will focus primarily on physics: the connection between physics and programming, and physics and chemistry.
We will also tell you about our faculty, about what makes it special to study here, and, of course, about how to apply to study at ITMO University in these uncertain times.
Our speakers:
- Valentin Milichko, Ph.D., Senior Researcher at the Faculty of Physics and Engineering at ITMO University, co-head of the International Laboratory of Hybrid Crystal Nanophotonics;
- Alexey Shcherbakov, Ph.D., Research Associate at the Faculty of Physics and Engineering at ITMO University;
- Yulia Tolstykh, responsible for career guidance at the Faculty of Physics and Engineering at ITMO University.
Join us on April 17 at 6pm for the live broadcast in our VK group: the broadcast will be in Russian.
