ITMO University together with Dell Technologies will hold an online hackathon on January 28-29, 2021.

The hackathon’s task is to develop an app for the Pravega system. 

Pravega provides a new storage abstraction, a stream for continuous and unbounded data. It is a durable, elastic, append-only, unbounded sequence of bytes that has good performance and strong consistency.

Participants are challenged to figure out ways to apply the open-source Pravega project to data analytics by creating an app, which will then be uploaded under a suitable license. The developed apps have to use Pravega for data transferring. Access to the Pravega platform will be provided through VPN. 

The solutions must be presented as links to public repositories on GitHub. Project execution, including the use of third-party engines, must be licensed under MIT or Apache 2.0. Participants may negotiate operational details with task curators at Dell Technologies.

Winners of the competition will have the chance to pursue their Master’s degrees at ITMO University (The Internet of Things Technologies, Neurotechnologies and Software Engineering, or System and Applied Software) as part of the HACK FOR YOUR SUCCESS contest.

Participants

Teams of two to three people, as well as individual participants, are welcome to join the hackathon.
