The development of international competitiveness of the ITMO University is now receiving a lot of attention. The University actively cooperates with foreign scholars and every day is more and more involved in international research projects. For example, the international project NanoBRIDGE is actively developed by scientists from Russia and Germany. Project purpose: strengthening the scientific and technical cooperation in the scope of nanotechnology between representatives of science and innovation enterprises of the two countries.
The initiators of the project were:
- The University of Kassel (Universität Kassel);
-
The Federal Ministry of education and research of Germany.
Participants from Russia:
- The ITMO University;
- St. Petersburg State Technological Institute;
- Tomsk Polytechnic University;
- Kazan state technological University.
The objective of the project NanoBRIDGE is to find applications of nanoscale systems to solve problems in biology and following fields of medicine:
- diagnostics;
- nanoanalytik;
- delivery of medicines;
- laser surgery.
In the framework of the project scientists and experts in the scope of nanotechnology conduct joint scientific activities, such as:
- visits of experts and researchers;
- an exchange program for experts, young scientists and students;
- educational courses;
- training of students at the University of Kassel;
-
internships and work practices at industrial enterprises of Germany.
