To date, Russia and China are the world leaders in the field of training of highly qualified specialists of technical direction. Cooperation of these countries is actively developing in the field of advanced scientific and technological developments, as well as in education. The ITMO University as a participant in the program to improve the competitiveness of Russian higher education works to increase the number of joint educational projects contributing to the implementation of scientific excellence and promising pedagogical practices.
To help facilitate collaboration, the meeting of representatives of the ITMO University and the delegation of the Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) was held on June 23, 2014 and covered the prospects for development of joint research work, as well as possible ways of cooperation.
One of the leading representatives of the Chinese higher education, the Shanghai University of Engineering Science, founded in 1978, specializes in 52 different fields of science, actively developing interdisciplinary field of knowledge: management, art, medicine, design. Interests of the SUES are traditionally focused on advanced scientific research: computer and information technology, nanotechnology and engineering.
By the end of the business meeting, representatives of the ITMO University and the SUES signed a cooperation agreement. "The Shanghai University of Engineering Science is one of the leading research centers in the field of technology and engineering”, said Daria Kozlova, the director of the Institute for International development and partnerships at ITMO University. “Collaboration of major universities such as the ITMO University and the SUES, can yield significant results and have a big impact on the international competitiveness of representatives of each of the parties to the meeting".
Specializing in high-tech engineering projects, ITMO University and the Shanghai University of Engineering Science work to develop research activities, improve the quality of education and expand the number of affiliate programs.
