November 13 and 14 therepresentatives of the Istanbul Arel University visited the ITMO University. The delegation consisted of Professor Osman Yildirim and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmet Gungor Kesci.
Both guests are the coordinators of international relations at their universities. Possible areas of cooperation were discussed at a formal meeting with Denis Zhuk, the director of the HRM Department Center of Business Cooperation of the ITMO Unviversity, and Nikolai Tokarev, the director of the HRM Department Center for Corporate Knowledge Management of the ITMO University. By the results of the meeting a framework agreement was signed by the universities. According to it, universities will cooperate in the framework of the academic faculty and student exchanges. In the future cooperation will be expanded.
Istanbul Arel University is quite a young university; it was founded only in 2007. Currently, the university has five faculties, three schools, one vocational school and several institutions, where both social and technical sciences are studied.
"Today, we are cooperating with many universities around theworld,” Osman Yildirim says. “But for us, ITMO Universityis a special institution that has much to learn, especially in the field of engineering. So today we are in St. Petersburg".
During the visit, Professor Osman Yildirim and Dr. Ahmet Gungor Kesci visited the ITMO University Optical Museum and Lyudmila Kuznetsova’s seminar, which was held in the framework of the event "Cambridge Days" at the ITMO University.
Results of the meeting were summed by Anastasia Tokareva, analyst of the Center of corporate knowledge management of the HRM Department: "For us, this meeting is the first step in efforts to forge partnerships with colleagues from Turkey. Today, ITMO University is actively expanding its international contacts. Istanbul University is one of the largest universities in Turkey; working with it is certainly interesting for us".
