ITMO Representative Office in Brussels and “Startups.be” project organized this conference. Belgian and Russian startups, business experts and public authorities participated in Russia-EU Startup Match-making Event. The teams had 5 minutes to present their projects and share their experience with colleagues.
For example, Anton Belik, the head of Pyrobox startup says that he got very useful information about the German market and learned the details of product assessment. His company designs portable mini-routers for mobile internet access.
Aleksander Eletsky, the head of Gcover Company, creates the device for guitar playing assistance. He says that after seeing the presentation of Belgian colleagues he understood how to make his presentation more appealing for investors.
Elena Stephanovich, the marketing and PR expert of Future Technologies Accelerator, says that it is too early to discuss the results of this meeting because the perspective of long-term partnership depends on the future communication between Russian start-uppers with their Belgian colleagues.
“The foundation of any successful startup is its scalable model. It is very important for the participants to enter the world market even if they will start with the Russian market first,” Elena Stephanovich comments.
The participants also visited several technoparks, research parks, innovative centers and met with prominent businessmen.
The main goal of the program is the development of perspective hi-tech projects. According to the participating teams have to implement their ideas into the real-life projects. Those with the highest potential of commercialization are awarded with financial support of up to $5 300, and also provided with the help of the mentor.
