Please, tell us about your project.

My colleagues and I started to work on this project when we were bachelor students. We focused on parametric modeling. The “Urban Planner” is aimed at automated design of housing areas of St. Petersburg. The process of housing scheme making is very complicated and long. Moreover architects have no time to consider needs of citizens. Our project helps to solve this problem.

Please, tell about the participation in “Tavrida”.

I took part in the Session “Young architects, designers and urbanists”. Six day program included lectures by experts and presentations of participants. Judges estimated our projects using different criterions such as social significance, creativity and efficiency.  I got 5 for my budget plan while the highest mark was 10. However I didn`t give up and continued. So other experts rated my project highly. I didn`t expect that I would be a grant recipient because my project is a software. Usually wins those who present some material things like a bus shelter or a bookcrossing point.  Thus I received 150 000 ruble-prize.

Did you establish some fruitful contacts?

Yes, I met with young specialists on parametric modeling and representatives of real estate development. I hope we will collaborate in the nearest future.

What will you do to upgrade your project?

The next thing, which I am going to do, is to improve the technology and prepare for the final report, which I have to present in June.

Is the “Urban Planner” a startup?

No, the project is not a startup because it focuses on social needs as opposed to making a profit.  However using our program architects and urban specialist will make several housing plans in the shortest possible time taking into account needs of citizens. Then investors will choose the best one.
