“EAIE” is Europe's largest international higher education conference. This year it brought together about 5000 participants from 90 countries. It is not only European event because a program of the conference includes an educational exhibition where one can see presentations by universities of Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Turkey, China, Korea, Argentina and other countries.
“EAIE” is a wonderful opportunity to participate in seminars and workshops by leading international education experts. Participants share their achievements and build contacts with colleagues from all over the world in order to organize new international research projects.
ITMO University representatives impressed other participants by a ceremonial opening of “World Champions programming school” (WCPS) website. wcps.ifmo.ru contains extensive information about ITMO University summer schools, workshops and training programs that aim to prepare students for programming competitions. Among tutors of “WCPS” there are sport programming experts and winners of the most prestigious programming contests such as ACM ICPC. A lot of students from Europe, Asia, and America have already visited “WCPS” in order to improve their skills. Such schools are usually very effective. Having completed such a training, a programming team tends to place higher at international competitions. Some international partners of ITMO University appreciated this project to consolidate all the info about programming schools on one site. The university got a nod from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences, University of Eastern Finland and others.
ITMO University experts also met with most of partner universities. Thus they discussed with Brazilian colleagues a joint summer school and educational conference “FAUBAI.”
Ms. Kozlova, ITMO University Vice Rector for International Relations, discussed with Michael Proctor, Rector of University of Arizona, a joint Master`s program “Art and Science.” ITMO University experts also presented an international “Super Summer School in Photonics” developed for University of Eastern Finland and University of Arizona students.
“EAIE” is the most convenient way to meet with almost all our international partners during only several days. Participants from all continents take part in this conference. Presenting ITMO University to our partners we aim to surprise them by unusual presentations and give as much information as it possible. This year we shared three international projects. We are also going to make new contacts. “EAIE” sessions are very effective. One can discuss some project by correspondence for several months. Meeting at “EAIE” with partners one can discuss all joint projects for 15 minutes. The most important thing is to prepare for the conference: make appointments, develop presentations and make plans for the future. We take part in “EAIE” every year. This conference is very important for ITMO University,” noted Daria Kozlova.
