“IASP” conference is a key international meeting for heads and leading representatives of science parks and innovation areas. Currently “IASP” includes more than 400 participants from 73 countries. “ITMO University Technopark” experts represented Russia at this conference.
“ITMO University Technopark” is one of the youngest “IASP” participants. We obtained this status in 2014. To enter the Association we worked hard. To be selected for the participation an applicant has to follow rigid requirements,” said Olesya Baranyuk, deputy director of “ITMO University Technopark”.
Every year representatives of leading university research parks from all over the world come to this conference in order to share their experience, make new contacts with international colleagues, and discuss topical issues such as new business models, entrepreneurial concepts, science parks` globalization, outsourcing, knowledge transfer, technology commercialization and etc. This year apart from plenary and parallel sessions experts also visited “Zhongguancun Haidian Park” and “Tianjin science park,” where most of Chinese innovative and tech companies start their activities.
“Having met with some our international colleagues we negotiated several joint projects,” noted “ITMO University Technopark`s” representative.
Every year organizing committee chooses a new venue for the conference. It is prestigious to become a receiving party. That is why the largest parks compete to become an organizer. “IASP 2016 World Conference” will be held in Moscow, Russia. “Skolkovo Technopark” united its efforts with “Moscow State University Science Park”, “Strogino Technopark” and “Moscow Innovation Center” and gained the right to host this meeting.
“More than 1 500 experts from more than 100 science parks will take part in “IASP 2016.” It is the first time when a lot of leading parks` representatives come to Russia in order to visit the top-level conference,” said Alexander Chernov, “Skolkovo fund” vice-president of advertisement and communications. “Moreover, “IASP” is going to expand next year because mere and more science parks are going to join it.”
“ITMO University Technopark” will be also included in “IASP 2016” executive board. It means that St. Petersburg science park was appreciated by international committee. Thus it is very important to prepare for conference activities in order to represent ITMO University at the highest levels.
“It is a wonderful opportunity for us to exchange knowledge with international experts, share our achievements and make new contacts with science parks from different countries,” summed up Ms. Baranyuk.
