On 13 of December at the International Center of Business Cooperation at St. Petersburg there was the XVIII Assembly of young scientists and specialists, summarizing results of contest of youth scientific achievements, the one of the most representative and large-scale events in the Northern capital. 

In a solemn ceremony representatives of the executive government of St. Petersburg, the Council of Rectors and the Board of Directors of Universities, honorable citizens of St. Petersburg awarded diplomas to the winners of grants for graduate students, young scientists and young PhD in 2013, as well as scholarship holders of government of St. Petersburg.

 The contest was held by the Committee on Science and Higher Education of the Government of St. Petersburg and the Russian State Hydrometeorological University as a part of the action plan to support the scientific activities of the Government of St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg Assembly of young scientists is a traditional event that annually sums up the implemented by the Government of St. Petersburg unique program of grant support for students, graduate students, young scientists and young PhD of universities and academic institutions. Program is being implemented since 1994. For the duration of this major event competition has become a traditional showcase of the scientific achievements of young people of the Northern Capital, a clear indicator of its growing human capacity. Assembly is annually attended by over 700 participants from more than 100 scientific and educational organizations in St. Petersburg. Many of them have attained great heights in science and managed to make a brilliant career.
