On 16-19 of September the 26th Annual Conference of the European Association for International Education EAIE-2014 will be held in Prague. The Russian delegation headed by Alexander Povalko, the deputy minister of education and science of the Russian Federation, will present the program for improving the competitiveness of Russian universities of the world's leading scientific and educational centers - "5 to 100". In the large-scale European event in the field of internationalization of higher education the ITMO University will participate for the first time. 

More than three thousand representatives of the largest universities in Europe come to Prague to participate in the 26th Annual Conference of the European Association for International Education, the theme of which is "Step into a new era". The name was chosen not by chance, and stresses the global changes taking place in higher education: the traditional university changes its shape, becoming more democratic and open to international communication and exchange of experience. Participants of the conference will discuss the issues of the construction of effective international cooperation, joint programs, especially for the teaching of a foreign audience, and much more.

Russian universities participating in the program "5 to 100" within a single stand will present and talk about the achievements of the national universities. ITMO University will present more than 30 joint educational programs, share with colleagues the success of 49 international scientific divisions and plans to surprise its partners with innovative projects. "The team of the ITMO University plans to meet all applicable international partners in the format of workshops, as well as to establish contacts with representatives of more than 100 organizations, in cooperation with which we are concerned" Maria Didkovskaya, the head of internationalization department, shares plans of the University. Daria Kozlova, the director of the Institute of international development and partnerships of the ITMO University, will perform as a speaker at the conference. She will talk about the progress of the University in the field of internationalization, new approaches to international cooperation and cross-cultural studies.

Recall that in 2013, the ITMO University became the one of the 15 universities, the winners of the right to receive the state support to improve the competitiveness of the world's leading research and education centers, the member of the "5 to 100", aimed at improving the position of Russian universities in the prestigious international rankings.
