The agreement opens up new opportunities for further development of holography and optical technologies in Russia and in the world.
Thanks to the tripartite agreement on partnership, ITMO University has had an opportunity to create a holographic image (OptoClone©) of original imperial Easter eggs created by Carl Gustav Faberge firm. In the future, the university will be able to show them on the exhibition Mystery Of Light, which will be held in the summer of 2015 within the International Symposium on Display Holography (ISDH), organized in St. Petersburg at the ITMO University.
"The connection of art and modern scientific developments, especially in the field of holography, gives a huge synergistic effect. On the one hand, it is a demonstration of the cultural heritage of the «Faberge» museum to the entire congregation, and on the other hand, - the development of a new interdisciplinary field of science", Vladimir Vasilyev, the rector of the ITMO University, said.
Before signing the agreement Sergey Stafeev, the dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the ITMO University, and Alkis Lembessis, the director of the Hellenic Institute of Holography, demonstrated the technical capabilities of graphic holography, showing a hologram of one of the imperial Easter eggs "Faberge".
In turn, Vladimir Voronchenko, the director of the «Faberge» museum, showed great interest in scientific research at the ITMO University and expressed his willingness to cooperate actively. "The «Faberge» museum often makes traveling exhibitions. But we can not take out the entire collection, we can not completely "bare" museum. Thanks to you, we have found a real possibility to demonstrate exhibits to the general public with the help of a holographic image" Vladimir Voronchenko said.
