ITMO University’s Competition for Young Scientists (standees)

Applications for ITMO University’s Competition for Young Scientists (standees) are open until December 6.

The competition aims to find the most talented and promising young scientists of ITMO University, stimulate their scientific interest and creativity, as well as encourage their engagement in research activities and science.

The winners’ submissions will be featured on standees located along the central staircase of ITMO’s main building at Kronverksky Pr. 49.

Each participant's contribution to the research activities of ITMO University will be assessed according to their achievements affiliated with ITMO University and stated in the Results and Achievements (Результаты и Достижения) tab of their ISU profile.

The jury will evaluate scientific results and achievements obtained after January 1, 2018, and meeting the following criteria:

• Publication in Web of Science, Scopus;
• Publication in a peer-reviewed Russian journal (from the ВАК (Higher Attestation Commission) list);
• Publication in a peer-reviewed ITMO University journal (from the ВАК (Higher Attestation Commission) list);
• ITMO University IP;
• Methodology and study books published by ITMO University;
• Victory in an individual Russian/international/city-wide grant competition;
• Publication not indexed by Web of Science, Scopus;
• Publication in proceedings of Russian conferences;
• Publication in a scientific journal or collected papers indexed by РИНЦ (Russian Science Citation Index)
• Publication in a scientific journal or collected papers not indexed by РИНЦ (Russian Science Citation Index);
• Victory in an ITMO University intra-university scientific contest;
• Victory in a scholarship or prize competition;
• Participation in R&D projects at ITMO University.

To participate in the competition, fill out an application in the Education and Science (Образование и наука) tab in ISU.

Applications will be accepted through December 6, 2020.

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Specialist’s students;

• PhD students; 

• ITMO-affiliated PhD holders under the age of 35;

• ITMO-affiliated DSc holders under the age of 40;
