According to Renata Abdulina, chairman of the Committee for Youth Affairs and Interaction with Non-Profit Organizations, the largest section of the forum is devoted to the World Festival of Youth and Students, which will take place in October 2017. The meeting will fuse together 20,000 people from 150 countries. More than 40,000 volunteers have been already attracted for assistance. Each participant of the Forum will have an opportunity to comment on and contribute to organizing the Festival.
"Every year the Forum includes different sections — it depends on youth’s interests and needs. That is why we are proud that this forum is focused on such an event," said Yulia Rudyk, member of the Organizing Board of the 4th Youth Forum.
The other sections will be centered around promoting an active lifestyle and sport activities. On December, 2 those who contributed to this will be awarded with special prizes. There are the following nominations: the best student sport community, the best sport blogger and promoter of active and healthy lifestyle, the best university involved in sport and motivation and contribution to the youth sport.
Evgenii Raskin, head of ITMO’s Student Sport Club "Kron Bars," is going to serve as moderator of the "students sport clubs" section. Among speakers of this session there will be Kirill Popov, head of social movement "Involved in Sport. St. Petersburg," Andrey Vlasov, a prize winner of the European Sambo Championship, Sergei Kriukov, CEO of the Student Basketball Association and others. The participants of the section will discuss student self-government activities, promotion of university sport clubs and other topics.
The speakers will also pay attention to the rules of application for the World Festival of Youth and Students. First of all, to join the festival one has to take part in a distant round of the contest. The best projects will be presented at the local forums in Russia and then the authors of the most interesting ones will go to Sochi to take part in the Festival.
Among the speakers of St. Petersburg International Youth Forum there will be representatives of Russian universities, officials and international experts. These are some of them: Alexey Polomarchuk, acting head of the Agency for Youth Affairs, Ksenia Razuvaeva, member of the "Rospatriot" Center, Diana Gurtskaya, member of the Civic Chamber, Mikhail Gusman, deputy head of the Russian News Agency TASS, Mikhail Degterev, State Duma member as well as others.
