Tell us a bit about yourself. What is your background?

In short, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery at the Tianjin Medical University in Tianjin, China, I worked as a full-time clinical intern covering all the departments at the Tianjin’s Second General Hospital. At the same time, I was involved in research relevant to material science and hydrogels. Besides that, I was providing support in academic and scientific writings for those who needed it. Then I decided to pursue my career in research and development, I got an opportunity to enroll in the Master’s degree program in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and I took it. Currently, I’m continuing my research at SCAMT with ceramics and nanomaterials research groups.

Is there anything you miss about your hometown?

I don’t miss anything about my hometown. Just my parents.

Can you detail a bit about studying at the Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Master’s program at ITMO University? 

It is certainly bringing my career to a new level. Working with SCAMT, especially with my research group has helped me to widen my knowledge and scope, as well as my scientific imagination.

What surprised you most at ITMO?

How prestigious ITMO University is and how it provides an extraordinary atmosphere for international students to perform their research and to be involved with highly rated research programs with well-experienced professionals.

What is the most interesting thing about working at the Academic Writing Lab? Have you had any interesting proposals you can tell us about?

It is really interesting to provide my consultations for researchers and academics that lead to converting their extraordinary research into academic language.

Do you have any future projects or plans you can tell us about?

Currently, I’m working on developing new biomaterials based on spider silk and biopolymers.
