I Am a Professional is a national competition for students of different majors and levels that features 70 tracks across different fields. In the contest’s ninth season, ITMO organized three of the tracks: Product Management in Digital Business, Programming and IT, and Information and Cyber Security

Following the qualifying round’s results, Programming and IT was ranked in the top three most selected tracks in the Northwestern Federal District. The track was earlier named among the top 10 tracks most often chosen by participants. The top three tracks also feature Mathematics and Law.

Programming and IT remains a popular choice with students, and ITMO is a leader in training students in these fields. All medalists, winners, and diploma holders of the contest will be enrolled at ITMO or other universities to acquire the sought-after specialization. This explains the track’s popularity that hasn't faded for years now,” share the organizers of the contest’s tracks at ITMO University.

Moreover, ITMO was also ranked second among St. Petersburg-based universities, with 707 students advancing to the finals. In total, 29,219 students from all over Russia took part in the final round, 3,637 of them were from St. Petersburg.

The finals of I Am a Professional will be held in February. Medalists, winners, and diploma holders get to enter Russia’s top universities, including ITMO, without entrance exams, and intern at major domestic companies.
