This year, over 300 vacancies of different levels and workload are included in the competition. For practicing specialists who want to combine teaching with their primary job, there is an option of flexible teaching hours. Successful candidates can expect employment contracts for one to five years.
At ITMO, lecturers never have to deal with any kind of issue on their own. They can focus fully on their academic work because at every stage, they are assisted by administrative, methodology, and engineering services: from paperwork to working with equipment at classrooms. New staff are supported by mentors, including in routine tasks. At the same time, there are no strict guidelines – lecturers are free to choose the format and approach of their classes. Candidates who pass the selection get access to modern classrooms, laboratories, and libraries.
The university also offers lecturers the opportunity to attend its professional development and language courses, as well as covers the cost of external educational courses. Additionally, ITMO supports faculty in participating in Russian and international conferences, offers assistance with research publications, as well as provides grant support for projects.
ITMO staff are provided with voluntary health insurance, medical checkups, and vaccinations. Moreover, staff have access to consultations by therapists, coaches, and career experts, as well as professional and research events: tours, festivals, and tournaments.
Applications for the competition will be accepted between March 27 and May 3. Applicants have to fill out the application form (in Russian) in full and provide documents confirming their qualifications (in Russian), as well as a certificate of having no criminal record. Applications can be submitted in person at ITMO’s Staff Support Office and online via ISU (the university’s information management system). Read more about the competition here (in Russian); external candidates can address any questions to job@itmo.ru.
During the entire employment process, candidates will be assisted by the university’s administrative offices that offer paperwork consultations and ensure that the competition’s deadlines and guidelines are met in full. The results of the competition will be decided by a qualification committee.
