Divinity: Original Sin 2 (2017)

Genre: RPG

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is hands-down one of the greatest RPGs of all time. With all its bells and whistles, it provides a unique experience for all gamers ready to explore the fantasy world of Rivellon on their own or as a group of up to four players.

The game offers a one-of-a-kind campaign with fun and engaging storytelling, lots of interesting characters (like a flesh-eating Elf or a seafaring Dwarf), and excellent turn-based combat. The game gives you complete freedom (you can even become friends with a cat!). Yet remember: all your actions have consequences, so choose wisely who's on your team and what you’re all up to.

It Takes Two (2021)

Genre: action-adventure

Blending the worst of real-world drama and the best of fantasy worlds, It Takes Two is a splendid co-op adventure for two, especially couples. Together, you’ll step into the shoes of a clashing couple, May and Cody, who are magically transformed into dolls and have to learn to work together to fix their marriage and become humans again. The game is brimming with unexpected turns and creative challenges like having therapy sessions with The Book of Love, an overly talkative book, or finding your way out of the house, or ehm… killing your daughter’s favorite toy, a stuffed elephant named Cutie (what a nice game!). Plus, there are lots of fun mini-games like laser tennis, rodeo, or chess, and, of course, friendly fire is on. So, inevitably, you’ll spend a good half of the game night in a never-ending snowball fight or Tom and Jerry-like chases with your game buddy. It takes some willpower not to!

A Way Out (2018)

Genre: action-adventure

A Way Out is another action-adventure game with a more movie-like narrative (shoutout to The Shawshank Redemption) and cinematography – a split-screen playable movie you might call it. Each player gets to play as Leo or Vincent, two main characters who have to team up behind bars to blast their way out of prison. But this is just the beginning of the story: you will have to stay on the run together and regain your freedom. Whether you’re Leo or Vincent, there will be different tasks for you: for instance, you might need to distract the prison guards while your accomplice is looking for a chisel. Aside from the main story, you will get to experience plenty of amazing mini-games such as arcades and literal exercise.

Mortal Kombat 11 (2019)

Genre: fighting

Mortal Kombat 11 might be more brutal and violent than the other three on the list but it’s for sure a must-have for your game night with friends, whether you’re new to the series or true veterans. Beloved for its co-op mode, the game lets you pick a fighter, be it Sub-Zero, Kitana, or even Johnny Cage (each with their unique style and skills), and show who’s the boss around here with some jaw-dropping Fatality or Friendship moves for extra show.
