Oscar nominations
Regarding the Oscars, Konstantin Bronzit was shortlisted and nominated for Best Animated Short Film three times – in 2009, 2016, and 2026.
His first nomination was for the short film Lavatory – Lovestory; this is a sketched visual love story of a single middle-aged lavatory attendant who after she receives a surprise bouquet of flowers tries to figure out who her secret admirer is.
The second Oscar nod came for We Can't Live Without Cosmos – a colored hand-drawn short about two lifelong friends who have dreamed of becoming astronauts; their shared dream, however, comes true only for one of them. The film uses the cosmic background to reflect on the topics of friendship and loneliness.
Ten years later, in 2026, Konstantin was once again nominated for an Oscar, this time for his work The Three Sisters, which he, as his secret project, submitted under a pseudonym to ensure the jury’s objectivity. This is a story of three women living on a remote island; their lives change after they’re forced to rent out one of their houses because of their financial struggles. The film is inspired by Montenegro folklore – and took around six years in production.
The 2026 Oscar winners will be revealed on March 15, 2026.
