Winter Engineering School
Who can join. The school welcomes third-to-fourth-year Bachelor’s students and engineering graduates.
School structure. Winter Engineering School is an online intensive course by ITMO’s Higher School of Engineering and Technology that features webinars and workshops by ITMO and industry experts and offers networking opportunities with future colleagues and like-minded people.
Among the school’s key topics are edge computing and AI in digital systems, rapid prototyping and engineering solutions for R&D, innovations in gas transportation and infrastructure management, energy-efficient technologies and engineering solutions for energy loss reduction, and more.
Benefits. Participants will master the foundations of fiber optic sensors, programmable electronics, optics, and energy, as well as expand their expertise in patenting and public speaking.
The school will conclude with a contest: an essay and a test. Winners will have the chance to enroll in one of the Master’s programs by ITMO’s Higher School of Engineering and Technology without entrance exams:
Key dates. The school will be held on February 24-27. Registration is open via the contest’s website until February 23. An offline meeting and awards ceremony for winners will take place on March 21 at ITMO University.

Technosphere
Who can join. The school is designed for third-to-fourth-year Bachelor’s students, Master’s students, and Specialist’s students starting with the fourth year of studies.
School structure. Technosphere is an online case championship organized by ITMO’s Faculty of Ecotechnologies that features expert-led workshops during which participants learn to give pitches and presentations and use AI for research design. Experts from the school’s partner companies will present real-world cases in the fields of ecotechnology and sustainable development and offer consultations to all participants. Potential projects include proposing a landing concept for Beeline’s ecological projects, applying the methods of digital modeling of tourist flows for natural areas’ management, or designing a solution for implementing reusable tares to improve goods transportation at Lamoda.
Teams will present their ideas at the final pitch session on February 27, and the jury will select winners and runners-up. Among partner companies are Rosa Khutor, NIIURS (Green Zoom), and Beeline.
Benefits. Students will be tasked with solving real-world cases in the fields of sustainable development and environmental safety and will learn to conduct research and pitch their ideas.
The most successful participants will be able to enter one of the Master’s programs by the Faculty of Ecotechnologies without exams:
Key dates. The championship will be held on February 16-27. Registration will open on January 19 and close on February 15. Applications can be submitted via the contest’s website.

ITMO Mega School
Who can join. The school is for Bachelor’s, Specialist’s, and Master’s students and graduates from Russia and other countries.
School structure. ITMO Mega School offers online classes by ITMO and industry experts across over 20 fields, including AI, industrial backend development, engineering sciences, chemistry and AI, applied genomics, information and cybersecurity, etc. 10 more tracks were introduced in 2026.
At the school, participants attend themed lectures and workshops and complete a final task based on the chosen track – for example, solve a business case or develop an AI solution or a mini-project.
Benefits. Winners will have the chance to enroll into ITMO Master’s programs without entrance exams. The list of available programs will be published on the admissions website on January 20.
Key dates. The school will be held on January 28-30. Applicants need to register for the school until January 27 via this website. The school’s results will be announced on February 8.
