  • PhD Vitaly Aksenov: Coding For Someone Other Than Myself Is Boring

    Vitaly Aksenov, staff member of ITMO’s Information Technologies and Programming Faculty, graduated from school at the age of 15. At the age of 24, he got his PhD at a leading French university. During the past several years, Vitaly has been working in the field of concurrent computing, solving fundamental tasks that have to do with optimizing data structures.   • ITMO.City of Professions: Best Jobs and Internships for Students

    Last week, ITMO University launched a major career event, ITMO.City of Professions. 24 companies presented their job opportunities and invited students to take part in various interactive activities. For example, Tinkoff Bank offered participants to play a turn-based strategy game in which you have to write a code in order to develop units. ITMO.City of Professions brought together companies specializing in five fields: photonics , engineering and robotics, management and innovations, food biotechnologies, and IT. ITMO.NEWS writes about the most interesting opportunities for students.

  • Mentorship Program: Find a Mentor and Land Your Dream Job

    ITMO University graduates can now take part in the Mentorship Program launched in collaboration with the Recursion charity fund and aimed at creating a platform for university graduates and students to share ideas and experience. About 250 university graduates became mentors for more than 1000 students.

  • “I Am a Professional” Winners On How Competition Changed Their Lives

    First All-Russian “I am a Professional” student competition was held last year. Attracted by the opportunity of free admission to leading Master’s and doctoral programs nationwide, 294,242 students took part in the contest. To encourage the participants, ITMO University decided to go against the usual ‘the winner takes it all’ rule and stretched the right to free admission to the winners of the Semi-Hackathon that was held as part of ITMO’s “It’s Your Call!” winter school.
