The ecosystem brings together research laboratories, developers, and science enthusiasts with the aim of developing the open-source infrastructure AI4Science. Anyone who has enough expertise and an interest in the field can join the existing research projects or suggest their own idea. The project’s ambition is to form a community for solving hot-topic problems in the fields of AI, open-source, and their applications in research. The main platform for communication within the project is the chat of the Scientific Opensource (Научный опенсорс) channel.
“Our community is involved in many activities – we develop custom open-source tools based on AI methods and models, popularize existing solutions, conduct open meetups and workshops, and actively work with students. One of our recently developed solutions is OSA, a universal tool meant to improve the quality of open-source repositories,” shares Nikolay Nikitin.
In total, the national award For Loyalty to Science received over 2,000 applications from 81 Russian regions. The award is organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education with support from the Russian Academy of Sciences.
