On October 25, ITMO University will welcome world-famous scientist John Ioannidis, who will give a lecture "Medical evidence: flawed, but possible to fix!". 

Stanford University professor John Ioannidis is one of the world's most famous and cited researchers, first and foremost in the field of medical science. It is thanks to his works, Why Most Published Research Findings Are False being one of them, that we've realized the whole scale of the problems in clinical and epidemiological research, and the reproducibility crisis has become one of the most discussed topics.

In his ITMO University open lecture on October 25, Professor Ioannidis will cover the following topics:

  • why most biomedical research findings are inaccurate;
  • what we, including in Russia, can do to rectify this situation.
