Description
On November 1-5, St. Petersburg will host the XIV International Science Film Festival The World of Knowledge.
This year’s topic is artificial intelligence. The special program is dedicated to the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements declared by the UN General Assembly.
The festival’s program includes 17 exciting popular science and documentary movies from different countries: USA, Denmark, France, Germany, Spain, Norway, Russia, and others. Traditionally, the projects are not limited to the topic of the festival, and, apart from artificial intelligence, they cover a wide range of problems, from the harmonious coexistence of people and animals, obtaining the human genome sequence, to the life-changing potential of scientific discoveries
The main festival’s platform will be the oldest cinema in St. Petersburg, Rodina. This is where the opening and the closing ceremonies, as well as movie discussions, will be held.
In addition to the main program, the festival’s organizers came up with a range of educational events in modern formats. The festival’s guests can talk to science communicators presenting their projects in the field of VR, listen to lectures in chemistry and even participate in workshops.
The full program of the festival is available here.
