  • Career Guidance Hackathon: Winning Projects

    Individual project work is an integral part of the modern educational process, and staff members of the Faculty of Infocommunication Technologies offer their students an opportunity to try it as early as in their second year of bachelor studies.   • VK Fest: Hi-Tech Entertainment, VR Gaming and ITMO Zone

    This summer’s largest open air, the VK Fest, is taking place in St. Petersburg. Popular bloggers, actors, athletes, artists and musicians performed on stage and conducted workshops. As usual, ITMO University participated in the festival with its own interactive zone. This year, it included three major sites: a future career expo, University of Children’s lectorium and a technological playroom.

  • City of Professions: Career Day at ITMO University

    Last week, ITMO University hosted a major career event - ITMO.City of Professions. This time, 40 participating companies prepared a 5-hours long interactive program for the university’s students and graduates, as well as offered internships and employment for entry-level positions. It has also become the first event of this kind for which the university’s specialists developed a dedicated application - the interactive online map of the city that helps to find a particular company and learn about the positions it offers. ITMO.City of Professions covered five major professional fields: IT, management and innovations science, food industry and biotechnologies, robotics and engineering, and photonics. Apart from the companies that had already taken part in ITMO’s career events before (Sberbank, Sberbank-Technologies, Delovie Linii, Diakont, Veenam and others), several new employers offered students jobs this time.   • ITMO.KIDS Technopark Gives Children a Glimpse of Future

    ITMO.KIDS - a technopark for children where they can learn about the professions of the future in a game format - has been recently opened at ITMO University. School students of any age will now have an opportunity to engage in robotics, game development and animation, bioinformatics, optics, natural sciences and entrepreneurship on a tuition-free basis. Following the first session, dedicated to robotics and circuitry engineering, Alexei Schekoldin, head of ITMO.KIDS, expanded on this new educational project.
