• ITMO University Receives Grant to Fund AI Research Center

  ITMO University’s AI Research Center “Strong AI in Industry” became one of the grant winners in the contest held as part of the federal Artificial Intelligence project. The selection process was conducted by experts of the Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation. The research center will be granted more than 1 billion rubles.

• Students of ITMO and Gazprom Neft Joint Program on Their Specialization

  In 2020, ITMO’s Center for Chemical Engineering introduced the Bioeconomics and Resource Management program for Master’s students. One of its specializations, Modern Aspects of Oil and Gas Engineering, is implemented within the framework of Gazprom Neft Corporate University’s program and League of Universities, initiatives focused on collaboration with Russia’s leading universities.

• ITMO Lecturer Konstantin Pravdin Takes Home Gazprom Neft Educational Award

  Konstantin Pravdin, an employee at ITMO’s Faculty of Control Systems and Robotics, received the Gazprom Neft Award in the Go Digital category at the annual We Are in the Future conference. His YouTube channel with content on mathematics was named the best digital learning solution.

• Machine Learning and Geological Faults: ITMO Students Take Part in a School by Gazprom Neft

  This spring, the Sirius educational center in Sochi held a school in Infocommunication Technologies Application in the Oil and Gas Industry. At the school organized by the Gazprom Neft Science & Technology Center students learned how machine learning can be used in the mining of mineral resources and created team projects on the topic. First-year students of ITMO’s Master’s program in Big Data and Machine Learning were among the participants of the school.

• ITMO University, Gazprom Neft, and Innopolis University Organize Online Hackathon Blockchain.Hack

  Participants will tackle a range of practical tasks suggested by the partners, all centered around the subject of blockchain technologies. The top teams will receive monetary prizes as well as the chance to continue their collaboration with Gazprom Neft and Innopolis University. Applications are accepted until November 30. The event will take place in Russian, but is open for non-Russian citizens.
