• Do Crises Equal New Opportunities? Tech Entrepreneurs on Developing IT and Business in Russia

  Over the past month Russian companies had to face unprecedented changes. How do they adapt to this new reality? Where can they find opportunities? And what skills will be in-demand on the market? ITMO University and Digital Dolina educational community launched a series of meetups for researchers and entrepreneurs who decided to stay in Russia to develop science and business.  Tech entrepreneurs, investors, and mentors shared their expertise at the first meetup of the series on March 31.

• Sberbank and ITMO University Open Second Round of Applications for Research Projects in Robotics

• ITMO.FUTURE: How to Help Develop ITMO and Boost Your Skills While at It

  ITMO.FUTURE is a project which aims to garner ideas on the university’s development, choose the best initiatives with the help of public voting and expert evaluation, and have these initiatives brought to life by ITMO students. A total of 25 projects have already been selected, with a search currently underway for specialists to implement them.

• ITMO Graduate Roman Yanalov on Working on a Self-Driving Car at Yandex

  Roman Yanalov graduated from ITMO University’s Master’s program in Design of Embedded Computing Systems in 2014. Since then, he has worked in game development and at a company developing assistance systems for drivers – all of which led him to join a team working on the creation of self-driving cars at Yandex. ITMO.NEWS spoke to Roman to learn more about his current work, university studies and the opportunities offered by the Master’s program.

• Studying, Working, and Growing at ITMO University

  ITMO University’s admission campaign 2020 is fully online. Moreover, all students will be able to choose between offline and online studies in the first semester. The pandemic won’t prevent us from beginning the new semester on time. • I Am a Professional Competition for Students: ITMO in Top Ten Universities by the Number of Winners

  Last week, results were announced of the latest, third run of the national competition for students “I Am a Professional”. ITMO retained its position in the ranking of the universities with the highest number of winners: 94 of its students made it to the finals this year, with 10 winning bronze, six – silver, and four – gold medals. Most of the winners emerged in the nominations traditional to ITMO: Robotics, Programming and Software Engineering, Information and Cyber Security. • Student Orientation and Meetings with Scientists: ITMO Introduction Days

  On September 2-3, ITMO University hosted Introduction Days, an orientation event for first-year Bachelor’s and Master’s students familiarizing them with the education process at the university and the opportunities it offers. The students took part in interactive sessions focused on introducing them to each other and teambuilding, attended lectures by leading ITMO scientists and learned about how to go on a semester exchange abroad.
