  • Bio & Art Summer School: Biomaterials in Art

    ITMO University offers its students an opportunity to work with incredible people on creating interesting projects and this year wasn’t an exception. One of our most fascinating summer schools this year was called Bio&Art: Biomaterials in Art, taught by ITMO graduate Laura Rodriguez. This summer school offered engaging lectures and DIY workshops focused on the innovative fields of Art & Science and Bioart. Held online, it attracted participants from around the world, including China, India, Kazakhstan, Russia, the Philippines, and the USA.

  • Russian Teams Took First and Third Place at Sports Hacking Competition CyBRICS 2020

    This is the second time that the international tournament has been held. Because of the pandemic, the 2020 competition was organized in a simplified way: there was one online round for everyone wishing to participate. CyBRICS 2020 also broke last year’s record in terms of the number of participants: it brought together almost 1,500 teams from all over the world, with 786 of them scoring better than zero. Thus, CyBRICS remains the largest sports hacking competition organized by a Russian institution.

  • ITMO’s Russian Language and Culture Summer School: A Passion for Learning

    Since 2016, ITMO University has hosted a Russian language summer school for language learning enthusiasts around the world. This year, from July 1 to 28, the school was held online for the first time with 22 participants from 10 countries including Canada, China, the UK, the USA and several countries in Europe. We talked to a few of the participants to learn about their experiences during the summer school and what attracted them to Russian language and culture.
