ITMO Rector Suggests Creation of Russian-Chinese AI Alliance
Recently, the Minister of Education of China, Huai Jinpeng, paid a visit to St. Petersburg. During a meeting at ITMO University, Rector Vladimir Vasilyev suggested the establishment of a Russian-Chinese AI alliance. This organization will provide opportunities for cooperation between the best professionals of both countries and provide applied solutions for education, medicine, and industry. Within the alliance, the leading universities of both countries will be jointly training AI professionals and conducting research in the field.

ITMO Features As Only Russian University on Global Top-100 Ranking in Artificial Intelligence
Based on the latest version of the QS World University Rankings, ITMO is currently the only Russian university to be featured on the subject ranking Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, where it is placed in the 51-70 range. In addition, ITMO has taken the 78th position in the world (and 2nd in Russia) in the Computer Science ranking.

Russia’s Big Tech and Top Universities Sign Declaration on Responsible Use of Generative AI
During the AI Day at the Russia Expo, the country’s major companies, including Sber, Yandex, and MTS, and leading universities such as the Higher School of Economics, Skoltech, Innopolis, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, ITMO University, and the Institute for System Programming of the RAS, have signed a declaration on responsible development and use of services based on generative AI. New Method To Turn Medicine Into Pills With AI Developed at ITMO
ITMO researchers have developed a machine learning-based algorithm that will make the production of finished dosage forms easier and cheaper. Thanks to the new solution, even before experimental tests it will be possible to generate accessory molecules with the necessary properties and assemble them into a structure of a treatment – a pharmaceutical co-crystal. The results of the research behind the algorithm will be presented for the first time at a dedicated workshop of the prestigious AAAI Conference.
