• Esports, Mental Health, and AR: Demo Day at Joint ITMO and MTS Accelerator

  On July 24, residents of the ITMO Accelerator joined the program's Demo Day. Over the course of three months, 45 startups worked on their projects under the guidance of experienced mentors, and only 25 made it to the finals. They all took part in Demo Day, presenting short pitches before members of the jury and potential investors.

• AR Technologies at Home: FASTEP Startup Team on Easy-to-Understand Manuals for Household Appliances

  In June 2020, the company Spider Group, a resident of ITMO University’s Accelerator, will present to the general public its brand-new app FASTEP. The development includes 1,500 step-by-step manuals for five classes of household appliances: washing machines, microwave ovens, slow cookers, ovens, and hobs. The app will help consumers navigate their way around using the appliances with the help of augmented reality (AR) technologies. The team discussed the business idea, the product’s audience, and their participation in ITMO Accelerator in this interview with ITMO.NEWS.

  ITMO’s Career Services Center hosted an online meeting on how to present a project to investors and superiors. Two representatives of the company Digital Design, Vladimir Stekolschikov and Anastasia Krylova, shared their insights on the matter. They both work at a special department, the Design Bureau, which handles the development and promotion of new solutions inside the company. That’s why one of the most important tasks for an entrepreneur is to choose the right associates, establish ties within the team, and provide it with competent leadership. Olga Kovrova, founder of the company KCG and expert in the field of sales, explained which criteria to use when choosing team members, why in this process it’s important to take into account your own weaknesses, and how to avoid the most common management mistakes.
