SciComm for School Students: ITMO’s Workshop at Nanograd Summer School
For ten years, Nanograd, a summer school for school students from all over Russia, has been running various workshops with real-world cases from companies. This year, the school took place in St. Petersburg, and its participants could join a workshop by ITMO’s Center for Science Communication, as well as special lectures and lab tours. ITMO.STARS Winners On Career, Science, and New Projects
The ITMO.STARS contest (application deadline: July 25) allows talented applicants to enroll at ITMO University regardless of their Unified State Exam scores. This initiative was launched five years ago and since then, several dozen gifted applicants submitted their projects and used them to enter the university. Last year, 19 students became finalists of the contest. In this story, some of them describe what they’ve managed to achieve since then.

How Optional Courses Can Instill a Love Of Science
Starting this year, students at ITMO have the chance to try their hand at teaching by developing their own optional courses. One of the contest’s participants is Maria Akhmetova, a second-year Master’s student at ITMO’s ChemBio Cluster, who has authored an advanced course in biochemistry with a focus on physical chemistry and research methods. 11th Congress of Young Scientists at ITMO Brings Together 2,000+ Russian Researchers from 66 Cities
On April 4-8, ITMO University hosted the 11th Congress of Young Scientists. While the event had been held online in the past two years, it was now once again available offline, too, with 64 sessions held in the blended format. All in all, more than two thousand representatives of 160 scientific organizations and universities from 66 Russian cities took part in the event.
