  • ITMO’s Academic Council Wraps Up 2017

    This year’s final meeting of ITMO University’s Academic Council took place on 26 December. The university’s R&D results were presented by ITMO’s Vice Rector for Research, Vladimir Nikiforov, while the university’s new educational standards were presented by the First Vice Rector, Daria Kozlova.

  • First Graduates of ITMO and University of Rostock Double Degree Program Receive Diplomas

    On November 7, the first four graduates of the joint double-degree Master’s program between ITMO University and the University of Rostock “Business Information Systems” received their diplomas. Present at the ceremony were Kurt Sandkuhl, program co-lead, Vladimir Parfenov, head of ITMO’s Information Technologies and Programming Faculty, Ekaterina Tulugurova, head of International Educational Programs Department, and the program’s professors.

  • Master’s Student: Why IT Specialists Need to Get Involved in Science

    A few years ago, Mekhti Musaev graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and spent several years working in the industry. In that time he worked on both simple backend apps and complex scientific projects. This made him realize that, if he wanted to keep moving forward and maintain a career in IT, the basic knowledge acquired at a Bachelor’s program would not be enough.   • ITMO Graduate from India on Benefits of Double Degree

    Soumen Banerjee came to ITMO University in September 2015 after getting his Bachelor’s degree in Calcutta. He enrolled at ITMO’s High-Performance Computing Department on a double-degree program and spent the first year of his studies in St. Petersburg.   • Japanese Exchange Students Share Impressions of Russia

    ITMO University was visited by 18 students from 10 Japanese universities as part of a Japanese-Russian youth exchange program. The program was initiated by Junior Chamber International Japan, which also invited ITMO University to participate in the program for the 8th time. Earlier, a group of 18 Russian students, including students from ITMO University, had gone on a similar trip to Japan. During their visit to Russia, the guests from the Land of the Rising Sun were given a tour of ITMO University and went sightseeing in St. Petersburg. They also spent five days in Moscow where they learned about the Russian higher education system. Speaking to ITMO.NEWS, they shared their impressions from their first-ever visit to Russia.

  • ITMO and NTU to Collaborate on Academic Mobility Programs

    ITMO University was recently visited by a delegation from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The main topic of the conversation between the two universities was the development of academic mobility programs. As of today, ITMO and NTU are already working together on research in predictive modeling and translational technology. In near future, the partners intend to strengthen their partnership in the area of student mobility.
