• ITMO University Graduates Will Help Integrate Technological Innovations

  The new Bachelor’s Degree program “Technological Innovations Management” will open for admission this summer, and on September 1 new students will become the pioneers of this new field. • Solar Panel of the New Generation by ITMO PhD Student

  On one hand, solar panels are a green solution, but on the other, they are very expensive and not very effective. However, cutting expenses on them will increase the popularity of  this alternative energy source. ITMO’s PhD student Mikhail Omelyanovich is working on reducing the cost for solar panels using perovskites and laser ablation. ITMO.NEWS talked to Mikhail about his development.

• ITMO University Becomes the Co-Founder of CINPET Innovation Center

  On March 27, ITMO became one of the co-founders of the new Center for Innovative Research, Development and Production Technologies, CINPET. The new center will focus on solving problems that have to do with the city economy, including those related to energy. • IT-Breakthrough in St. Petersburg: from Machine Vision to Smart Feeders

• ITMO University — Russia’s Second Best in Innovative Activities

  ITMO University was placed second in the rankings by Russian Venture Company (RVC) that monitors the efficiency of innovative activities. Amongst other leaders were National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (placed 1st) and the Tomsk State University (3rd place). All in all, the specialists from RVC studied 40 universities — those that participate in the National Research Universities program, Program 5−100 and programs for federal universities.
