  • ITMO Retains Top Spot Among Priority 2030 Participants

    The Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education has summed up the second year of the national program Priority 2030. ITMO University has once again shown great results, maintaining its stance as the top participant of the Research Leadership track. In 2024, the university will receive an additional 529 million rubles on top of the base grant.

    Four research projects developed by scientists from ITMO University received the top accolades in this year’s Blue Sky Research competition, which focuses on AI applications in agricultural and food industries, with winners receiving 1.5-million-ruble grants. This competition aims to support young researchers with promising high-risk ideas.

  • ITMO’s Advanced Engineering School Awards 1.5 Million Ruble Grants to Interdisciplinary Teams’ Tech Projects

    Advanced engineering schools have been launched across the country in 2022 as part of a federal project. Its main goal is to train principal engineers who can assemble interdisciplinary teams and use data-driven approaches to integrate new products into partner companies’ processes. ITMO’s Advanced Engineering School is part of the effort. Recently, it has awarded grants of up to 1.5 million rubles to ten interdisciplinary teams made up of ITMO Master’s and PhD students. We spoke to some of the winners about their projects and future plans.

  • ITMO Students Win Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Scholarship

    The Consul General of Israel in St. Petersburg Dr. Uri Resnick awarded grants for two Master’s students from ITMO’s Faculty of Photonics. The award ceremony took place at ITMO on October 3. The scholarship will cover one year of studying at Tel Aviv University.

  • ITMO Digital Generation Club Wins 5 Million Ruble Grant From Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education

    According to the results of the national contest among scientific student clubs, forty universities were granted financial support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The contest’s leaders, among which are ITMO University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, and the National University of Science and Technology (MISiS), received 5 million rubles to build a community of young professionals in artificial intelligence.

  • ITMO Students Receive 2.5 Million Rubles Grant for University Development

    On November 27-29, the Sirius Park of Science and Art hosted the final round of the Tvoy Hod (“Your Move” – Ed.) competition.  ITMO University received a 2.5 million rubles grant for having the greatest number of participants who made it to the finals. ITMO.NEWS talked to the finalists to learn more about their projects.
