• Science Fest: Future is Here

  Science Fest, a grandiose celebration of science, has yet again been hosted in St. Petersburg. Held on September 22-23, the event spread over ten unique spaces in the city: the usual Planetarium and Lumiere Hall were joined by the museums of optics, cosmonautics, and railway transport, the Lenpoligraphmash creative space, the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, and the landmark Annenkirche church. The extensive program reflected the festival’s key message: science is a valued contributor to all aspects of our life.

• Science Fest 2017: Space, Big Data and VR

  Last weekend, yet another Science Fest took place in St. Petersburg.  As  this time the event was hosted at the recently-opened planetarium, guests were able to watch full-dome popular science films about space and space exploration. Adherents of “hard” science could also attend lectures on modern technology, the capabilities of hybrid intelligence and Big Data, while those who thrive for new experiences could try out VR apps and see a hologram of R2-D2 at ITMO University’s interactive zone.

• ScienceFest, Day 2: Phygital Technologies And The New Approach To Museums

  The second day of ScienceFest was mostly dedicated to such subjects as space and robots. Among other topics, the public especially enjoyed the Teslatoriumtheater, the lecture by Oleg Yusupov and Ivan Unitskiy on phygital interfaces, as well as the presentation by Sergei Stafeev who gave a review on modern museums' new features from quite an original point of view.

• Science Fest: Growth of VR, Functional Food and Why Humanity Will Always Return to Earth

  Virtual reality, the science of the brain, human development and space – these were the topics on the first day of Science Fest that took place this weekend at creative space “Lumier Hall”. The visitors attended lectures about the future of VR, prospective professions, functional food and first-hand accounts about the experience of being in space. In addition, the creative space held workshops on robotics, augmented reality, game development and other topics.
