  • ITMO University Researchers Create a Terahertz Holographic Spectrometer During Self-Isolation

    The pandemic and self-isolation have ruined plans of many scientists: the conferences are postponed, the publishing of articles is delayed, and many projects are frozen. However, research activities are taking place. For example, ITMO University scientists have created a terahertz holographic spectrometer that they need for studying vortex beams of electromagnetic radiation at home. This research is a part of developing new efficient technologies for wireless data transmission. ITMO.NEWS asked the creators of the device how they managed to make it during self-isolation.

    Starting from 2018, prospective students thinking about studying at ITMO University can choose between different types of Master’s programs: scientific, industrial, corporate or entrepreneurial. Such diversification allows students to decide on their preferred development trajectory and choose the program that most suits their interests and career plans.   • Young Scientists From ITMO University Win IEEE Photonics Society Awards

    The IEEE Photonics Society has announced the results of its annual Graduate Student Fellowship Award, and for the first time ever two ITMO University scientists made the list. Among the 2018 recipients of this prestigious prize commemorating high-achieving PhD students for their research are Tel Aviv University PhD student Dmitry Filonov and ITMO University PhD student Alena Schelokova, both Associates of the ITMO International Research and Educational Center for Nanophotonics and Metamaterials.
