  • Scientific and Technical Journal of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics Added Into Scopus

    Based on the results of ITMO University's application, the Scopus Content Selection and Advisory Board (CSAB) recommended the Scientific and Technical Journal of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics for inclusion in the largest abstract and citation Scopus database. Currently, this database indexes about 24,000 titles of scientific publications. Scopus is developed and owned by Elsevier Publishing Corporation.

  • QS World University Rankings: ITMO University Enters the Global Top-400

    The latest edition of the QS World University Rankings, published annually by the UK company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), has been unveiled. This year, 1,002 universities from 93 countries were included in the ranking. ITMO University has once again demonstrated growth, entering the list of the world’s top 400 universities.

  • Beginner’s Guide to Submitting Your Research to Scopus and Web of Science Journals

    Scopus and Web of Science are the two largest databases that collect data from top scientific journals. Today, publications in journals indexed by these two systems and the number of references to these works in other authors’ papers are key indicators of a scientist’s activity and reputation. But researchers who are submitting their work to such journals for the first time have to deal with a number of challenges, such as finding the right outlet, properly formatting their article, and so on. ITMO.NEWS asked Valentin Milichko, the winner of Scopus Award Russia 2018 and researcher at ITMO University’s Faculty of Physics and Engineering, and George Zograf, a PhD student at the same Faculty, to compile a guide to submitting your article to Scopus- and WoS-indexed journals.

  • ITMO Scientists Win Scopus Award Russia 2018

    The winners of Scopus Award Russia 2018 have been announced in Moscow. Organized by the major publishing company Elsevier, this award is given to scientists whose works are published and cited the most. This year’s winners of Scopus Award Russia are two researchers working at ITMO University: Anvar Zakhidov, a professor of the Texas University at Dallas and head of ITMO’s Laboratory of Hybrid Nanophotonics and Optoelectronics; and Valentin Milichko, a research fellow at the University’s Faculty of Physics and Engineering, who won the award in the category “Young Scientists”.

  • ITMO’s Nanosystems Journal Joins the Web of Science Core Collection

    The journal "Nanosystems: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics" was included in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoS CC), a scientometric and bibliographic database. Publishing one’s article in a journal from the WoS CC is the most appropriate way of sharing one’s work with the international research community.
