• Russian Team Takes Three Gold Medals at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2021)

  Like last year, the 33rd International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2021) was held online and brought together a record number of participants: 300 school students from 88 countries. The Russian team took home one silver and three gold medals and became one of the competition’s leaders alongside the teams from the USA, China, and Singapore. The team was headed by Andrey Stankevich, an associate professor at ITMO’s Faculty of Information Technologies and Programming.

• ITMO Student Creates Platform for Finding Team Members for Various Projects

  Smart Family is a new service for building teams and exchanging competencies not only between students but also university graduates, Technopark residents, and participants of ITMO Accelerator. The platform already brought together over a hundred people and several startups, including WeGoTrip, ScanFace, BuildDocs, and others.

• A Guide to Assembling an Effective Business Team

  A business begins with an idea, and grows only under careful guidance of a team. That’s why one of the most important tasks for an entrepreneur is to choose the right associates, establish ties within the team, and provide it with competent leadership. Olga Kovrova, founder of the company KCG and expert in the field of sales, explained which criteria to use when choosing team members, why in this process it’s important to take into account your own weaknesses, and how to avoid the most common management mistakes. The workshop “How to Build an Effective Business Team” was organized by the inter-university Entrepreneurship Club. ITMO.NEWS publishes the keynotes.

• ITMO University’s Personal Development Center Launches a Course on Team Creativity

  The international educational platform Global Education Futures, which unites the world’s leading experts in the field of futurology, considers co-creation the key skill of the 21st century. Futurologists predict that by 2025, the approach to hiring workers will have undergone a radical change: instead of individual specialists, employers will take on creative project teams. Helping master this new but vital competency is Carousel of Creative Technologies, a team creativity development course developed by ITMO University’s Personal Development Center “Rhythm” together with the coaching company T&D Technologies. Over the course of a month and a half, from March 5 to April 16, the participants will attend six workshops and undertake a business quest which will result in completed team projects.
