  • ITMO Team Takes 4th Place at World Robot Olympiad 2020

    Eighteen teams participating in this year’s World Robot Olympiad (WRO) had to compete for five main prizes. The team from ITMO University represented Russia at the competition and finished fourth in the Open Category.


  • Me & My Robot: ITMO Roboticists Feature in a Documentary by American Filmmaker Mark Decena

    The members of ITMO University’s robotics team from Creative Robotics Lab have been put in the spotlight in the documentary by an American documentary maker and director Mark Decena. Me & My Robot follows the young roboticists as they compete for gold at the World Robot Olympiad. The documentary has been presented at CPH:DOX, one of the largest and most prestigious international documentary festivals currently being held online. You can watch the film for free until April 5. 


  • ITMO’s Robotics Team Wins Silver at World Robot Olympiad 2019

    The 2019 World Robot Olympiad, an international robotics competition for talented school and university students from over 70 countries, has just come to a close in the city of Győr, Hungary. Led by coach Igor Lositsky, ITMO University whizzes took second place, surpassing more than 30 teams in the Senior High age category. They presented their project LEGO Education Helper, a smart table that cleans itself.


  • ITMO University’s Youth Robotics Team Wins Gold in National Stage of World Robot Olympiad 2019

    On June 23, the 2019 Russian Robot Olympiad, the national stage of the World Robot Olympiad, wrapped up at the Innopolis University (Kazan). This year, the venue, which has been hosting the country’s largest competition in the field since 2014, welcomed 211 coaches and 537 participants aged from 12 to 18 years old. Among them was the team from ITMO University’s Youth Robotics Laboratory, who presented their new invention, LEGO Education Helper, taking the first prize of the competition. 


  • Joint Project between ITMO U and LEGO Education

    Esben Stark, the President of LEGO Education, and Olga Lombas, head of LEGO Education Russia & CIS, visited ITMO University and discussed the prospects of cooperation with the university on educational projects. LEGO Education and ITMO University share the same mission: to train creative professionals to work in the ever-changing world of new technologies.
