International Festival of Social Entrepreneurship

The International Festival of Social Entrepreneurship is conducted annually by ITMO University as a key event of a social engineering system development and its further transition to a social entrepreneurship level.

 

Student teams that represent universities of Russia and foreign countries (USA, Mexico, Brazil, China) are invited to participate in the annual Festival. Each team has its own social entrepreneurship development systems and procedures. The key conduction for participation is the availability of realized projects. All projects should be focused on improving of the life quality in local communities in the region, where participants live.

 

During the full-time participation the Festival turns into an educational platform. Student teams will take part in master classes of world experts to create a start-up company based on social projects. Participants will pass an intensive course that consists of the following topics: creation and management of their own organization, development and promotion of a Nonprofit Organization, business esthetic and eloquence, etc.

 

As the result of collaboration with the experts students will present either their project results or project business-model whereby their social project will be further developed. The jury of the Festival will choose three best students’ projects.

 

In 2015 the Festival will be timed to the final stage of the interuniversity competition of the students’ social projects “People need you!” in June. From this time forth the Festival will be held annually in June and July as a separate event.
