The webinar "Using blockchain technology for intellectual property rights management in a knowledge-based economy" will take place between 3 pm and 3:45 pm on May 27. 


The webinar is held by the Faculty of Technological Management and Innovations with support from the Vladimir Potanin Foundation. 


The following topics will be covered at the webinar: 

  • The role of knowledge in the new economy; 

  • Intellectual property as a commercial implementation of the knowledge-based economy mechanisms;

  • Blockchain technology: what, where, when, why and how?

  • Smart contracts;

  • New business models of blockchain technology;

  • The issues of the modern intellectual property rights management system;

  • The new institutional and systemic structure of intellectual property rights in the era of blockchain. 


The webinar will be given by Ibrahim Alanfrah, lecturer at ITMO University’s Faculty of Technological Management and Innovations.
