Description
The pandemic has pushed us out of our routine into the digital world.
Are we still physical or are we turning digital? Is there a way out of the digital reality? Do we need to review the concept of what’s natural?
We’ll try to answer these questions at the Leaving the Digital workshop, which will take place at ITMO University on May 29 and 30. During the workshop, participants will learn to work with generative graphics, print algorithmic drawings, and grow biological agents such as slime molds.
The speakers are the coordinators of the Art & Science Master’s program:
- Vadim Smakhtin – a creative engineer, who works at the intersection of data visualization, urban studies, and virtual reality;
- Maria Kuptsova – a transdisciplinary artist and researcher, who explores new forms of technology, intelligence, and aesthetics;
- Laura Rodriguez – an independent artist and biotechnologist, who explores aesthetics, empathy for all species, and care systems for biological networks.
The participants need to bring their laptops to the workshop.
