22 of May the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) has started. In 2014, the main theme of the forum is "Building trust in an era of change". Vladimir Vasiliev, the rector of the ITMO University, traditionally takes an active part in the annual summit of representatives of political and business elite.

During the three-day business agenda the round tables, panel discussions and other events on the theme of development of Russia's economic policy will be held. The rector of the ITMO University will participate in several debates on important issues of economy and social sphere.

Vladimir Vasilyev will talk about the positive experience of the ITMO University in this field: the creation of master's program "Design of urban ecosystems", the implementation of joint infrastructure projects with business representatives, social development of initiatives in collaboration with the Administration of St. Petersburg.

The experts will discuss a range of different topics: from the impact of IT- technologies for the development of the industry to the problems of human resource capacity in the industry. Rector of the ITMO University will talk about prospects for the creation of new educational programs for training specialists of information technology market. He will discuss with the colleagues the possibility of the formation of human inquiry in the future. Panelists will attempt to answer the following questions: is it possible for IT-education system to adapt rapidly to the new needs of the market and what role should business play in this process?
