Please, tell about this device.

The idea of this gadget is standard. It has the same metrological characteristics as a usual heartbeat monitor. The main feature of our development is that unlike a heartbeat monitor, which has 12 sensors, our device has one sensor and one fingerstall photoplethysmograph.

Observing somebody for a month we can predict his or her state of health on the following 2-3 days. The only thing we use is mathematical calculation. It is a unique system.

Nowadays heart attack can be diagnosed only post factum. However those patients who constantly do electrocardiogram can use our system, which predicts dangerous complications.  Moreover, we synchronized it with a special call-center. Green, yellow and red panel lamps show one`s state health. So if you are not ok and yellow lights up the device contacts with call-center heart experts.

How will your development influence Healthcare Service?

We initiated a new approach to health service activity. Being in hospital a patient has his heart rate checked only several times. It is not enough and after dismissing from hospital he stops doing it at all. Using our system one can organize city, regional and even all-Russian databanks in order to analyze this information.

We are going to produce the first parcel of goods at the end of this year. These devices will serve as a stress rate detector. We have led clinical trials. However our center has no certification so we cannot launch mass production. I hope it will not take a lot of time to do that.

If a patient visits different hospitals none of doctors have a complete disease history. Is it correct to say that your development fights bureaucratic runaround?

Our approach has a lot of advantages. First of all our system can be applied to newborn children checkup because undetectable heart diseases are very dangerous.  Our target is to implant a new way of life and make people take care about their health.

Analyzing results of calculations our system prescribes general advice like “you should visit a sports hall”. However we are usually criticized that our device aims to take the place of a doctor. The device doesn`t serve as a doctor because it cannot give physician’s order. Now we consult with healthcare specialists in order to improve our system but it doesn`t mean that people should buy this gadget and stop visiting doctor.

We are going to develop databanks with calculations reflecting a state of health history instead of a disease history. Our research will give an opportunity to understand how, for example, a place of living or an occupation affects people.

It sounds like futurological prediction.

We didn`t invent new mathematical principles but a unique combination of existing methods made it similar to a futurological idea.

Our device can be connected with a smart phone or a computer by Bluetooth. Estimations should be done about 2-3 times a week. Estimation process continues nine minutes: during the first three minute period one has to sit, the next three minutes one has to do exercises and the last period one has to rest.  The system recommends exercises according to individual characteristics. For example, it prescripted me to do 40 squats while my colleague, who had problems with his heart, was made to walk.
