ITMO International Days Reboot: More Partners, More Projects

Last year ITMO University established a good tradition of holding a huge event for its international partners - ITMO University’s International Days. It was decided to gather ITMO friends in marvelous St. Petersburg every June – the period when nights are “nightless” and the weather is getting better and better. This year this activity has turned into a trend!

The main idea of the event is creating a platform for effective communication and discussion of prospective initiatives and joint projects. The partners from Aalto University, Tallinn University of Technology, TU Ilmenau and other institutions attended the event last time. This year even more participants are expected to come – from Paris Diderot University, University of Montpellier, Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences etc. Experts from Academic Cooperation Association (ACA), as the distinguished guests of ITMO University, will provide expertise on the latest internationalization and quality assurance trends and policies.

The agenda covers roundtable discussions on the most pressing issues in international higher education, a tour of the ITMO labs and campuses as well as a meeting with ITMO students motivated to study abroad.

Large events and meeting expand ITMO U team every time! This year tons of students and employees joined volunteer initiative so as to assist the team in organizing, hosting and event providing. Initiated in 2015 Ambassador Project also was interested in it. ITMO ambassadors are students with excellent marks experienced in research work and who aspire to share the information about our university with international colleagues. These active young creators can`t stand joining this event.

“In 2015 ITMO International Days made its` debut. Despite the fact that it was new idea we reached wonderful results. Our colleagues launched double-degree and short-term programs as well as joint international projects. Now the event is expected to be even more efficient for both ITMO University and its` partners. The Days overlap with Russian Academic Excellence Project “5-100” goals contributing a lot to ITMO University’s promotion achievements. ITMO U staff members and students are welcome to take part in it and drive fresh ideas,” said Elena Shumeyko, manager of Department of International Educational Programs.

ITMO International Days 2.0 will open its` doors on June 9-10, 2016. All the partners from across the globe are welcome to take part in ITMO International Days.
