12th International academic competition 'IT Planet 2018/19'

December 10, 2018 marked the start of the registration round for the biggest academic competition in the field of IT in the CIS countries region, the 12th international academic competition 'IT Planet 2018/19'.

This year's event is hosted in the following categories:

  1. Programming;
  2. Cloud computing and databases;
  3. Telecommunications;
  4. Mobile platforms;
  5. Digital creativity;
  6. Copyleft software and robotics;
  7. Limitless opportunities (solutions for people with special needs).

The program of the contest will be updated throughout the rest of December. Each participant can try their chance at any number of contest categories. Citizens of all countries are invited to take part; the only requirement is a good command of Russian.

Registration of participants will last all the way to the end of the first qualification round:

  • for students of registered universities participating in technical contest categories: until February 15, 2019;
  • for individual participants taking part in technical contest categories: until February 22, 2019;
  • for all participants of creative contest categories: until March 20, 2019.

As part of the first qualification round for technical contest categories, which will last from January 20 to February 22, 2019, participants will need to take an online test that will evaluate their knowledge of related technologies. Contestants with the best scores will go through to the next round, in which they will be asked to solve practical cases developed by the representatives of IT companies. Taking place on March 1-20, 2019, this round will give the participants the chance to work on real-world tasks IT specialists encounter in their day-to-day work.

Participants of creative contest categories will compete in one qualification round which implies developing projects according to the assigned task. All such works should be submitted from December 10, 2018 to March 20, 2019 via the competition website.

Participants with the best results will be invited to compete in the final round, which will be held in Moscow in June of 2019.
