Mathematical Technologies for Systems Analysis

Description. The Master’s program is for students with a major in mathematics or computer science.

Curriculum. Students will study programming, machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistics, and big data processing and storage to develop novel and explore the existing mathematical models, predict the behavior of mechanical, quantum, optical, magnetic, chemical and biological systems, as well as process and present data.

Career prospects. A degree opens up a lot of opportunities: as a mathematician programmer, a data scientist/engineer, a system analyst, a mathematical analyst, a mathematician algorithmist, a design engineer, a science programmer, or a mathematician. Possible employers include Tinkoff, Gazprom Neft, Sibur, and Veeam.

Electric Drive Engineering

Description. This new online program in engineering sciences is aimed at those who wish to design electromechanical systems, operate electrical equipment, and program microcontrollers.

Applicants. This will be of interest for students striving to expand their engineering skills.

Curriculum. Over the course of the program, students will explore electrical equipment and hardware and control systems, as well as gain skills in circuitry, power electronics, control systems of digital electrical drives, microprocessor technology, microcontroller programming, and programmable logic integrated circuits.

Career prospects. With a degree in electric drive engineering, you may become an engineer, a design engineer, or a service engineer who can code and design electromechanical systems at machine and engineering companies, like Elektroavtomatika, Diakont, or Transmashholding.

Chemistry Software

Description. Chemistry Software is Russia’s first online program in chemistry and IT. Starting this year, ITMO will train specialists who will develop software for use in chemistry, biotechnology, medical diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, industrial robotics, healthcare, and adjacent fields.

Applicants. The program welcomes prospective students with a background in chemistry and chemical engineering, biology, biotechnology, medicine, mathematics, physics, or IT.

Curriculum. You will acquire skills in software development, the Internet of things (IoT), analysis and visualization of big data, computing chemistry, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality (AR), as well as learn to deploy the obtained knowledge to, for instance, optimize the synthesis of life-saving medications or develop mobile testing systems or wearable devices for health monitoring.

Career prospects. Graduates of the program can be chemical developers, experts in chemoinformatics, machine learning specialists in chemistry, developers of apps and software for chemical equipment at the R&D departments of such companies as Gazprom Neft, Agama, ScienceSoft, and NT-MDT.
