On June 19, 2014 the ITMO University will pass the baton to the Ural Federal University, which will host the finals of the most prestigious student command programming contest - ACM-ICPC, on June 22 in Ekaterinburg.

The meeting will be attended by students and graduates of  ITMO University, the winners of the competition of last years, the teachers of the Summer School for sports programming at the ITMO University and representatives of the business community.

IITMO University is the world's only university, which student teams are five-time champions of ACM-ICPC. Twelve world champions in programming are current students at ITMO, and two of them are two-time champions. 

In 2014, at the ITMO University the unique school for sports programming was organized to prepare students for international competitions and championships. The School teachers are: Fedor Tsarev, the assistant professor of Department of Computer Technology, the world champion on programming in 2008, and Maxim Buzdalov, the assistant lecturer of Department of Computer Technology, the world champion on programming in 2009. In the period from 15 to 21 June 2014 more than 30 students from Switzerland, the USA, Brazil, Peru, Australia, Latvia, Poland and Egypt will take part in the work of the Summer School.

The main event will be a teleconference with the Ural Federal University and transmission electron farewell to new hosts of championship. Media representatives will be followed by a press conference. Also a round table with the participation of specially invited experts of ITMO University and representatives of the business community is planned. The main topics for discussion are the shortage of personnel in the IT-labor market, the quality of IT-education, as well as support talented students. The ceremony will  conclude with a presentation of the film about the world champions on programming.

The event will be held at the conference hall of ITMO University (4, Birzhevaya line, Vasilievskiy Island, St. Petersburg).

1:10 p.m.  - Round table with representatives of the business community.

2:30 p.m. - Presentation of the film about the winners of ACM-ICPC.
