    ITMO’s Russian language and culture summer school kicked off in St. Petersburg in mid-July and is coming to an end today with about 20 students participating from 8 countries in three different language levels. The summer school attracts university students currently studying the Russian language, as well as students of Russian origin, future students wanting to enroll in the University and simply those interested in Russian language and culture.

  • PhD Students Win Research Scholarships in Germany

    In the beginning of October, three of ITMO's PhD students will go on an internship to Germany which will last until the end of March. The Mikhail Lomonosov program funded by DAAD and the Russian Ministry of Education and Science will offer the students an opportunity to conduct research in European universities and science centers.  ITMO's PhD students spoke about the research they will be doing there.

  • ITMO Students in Singapore: How to Please Customers by Analyzing Their Social Media

    In future, social networks could make advertisers’ work much easier. Big Data analysis algorithms can already figure out the ins and outs of a customer’s personality. They can be used to track negative reviews, determine the customers’ desires, identify their psychological type and tailor advertisements according to each customer’s data. A group of Master’s Degree students from the Computer Technologies Department have studied this topic at the National University of Singapore. They have told us about their research and the pros and cons of living in a city state.
