  • Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Named as Chair of ITMO Highpark Board of Directors

    The implementation and funding of ITMO Highpark, a new campus currently under construction in the satellite city Yuzhny south of St. Petersburg, will now be carried out within the framework of the programs of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education; the government body’s head, Minister Valery Falkov, has been chosen as the chair of the company’s board of directors. Maxut Shadayev, who heads the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, which was previously tasked with overseeing the project, will stay on as a member of the board.

  • New Pumping Station To Be Installed as Part of ITMO Highpark Construction

    Vodokanal of St. Petersburg (the city’s main water utilities enterprise – Ed.) has received a lease on a land lot in the Pushkinsky District of St. Petersburg along the Rekhkolovskoye Highway. This location will house the Alexandrovskaya water pumping station, which is necessary for the implementation of one of the city’s key strategic projects – the establishment of the research and education center ITMO Highpark. A decision to approve the lease was made during a session between Alexander Beglov, the Governor of St. Petersburg, and the members of the Government of St. Petersburg.

  • Russian Government to Invest Three Billion Rubles in ITMO Highpark

    In 2021, the Russian Government will allocate three billion rubles to construct ITMO’s world-class research, education, and innovation center in the satellite city Yuzhny, Pushkinsky District. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the associated order on December 23. Another two billion rubles will be granted by the Government of St. Petersburg until the end of the year. The next round of financing is scheduled for 2022-2024.

  • St. Petersburg Governor Poltavchenko Elected as ITMO Highpark Chairman of Board

    The decision was made during the first session of ITMO Highpark’s Board of Directors. Highpark is a new scientific, educational and innovative center in the south of St. Petersburg. The meeting itself was held on December 20 at ITMO University. Also present at the session was Nikolay Nikiforov, the Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media. Mr. Nikiforov noted that this project will take the form of a complete ecosystem aimed at supporting research, innovative projects and the quality of life for young specialists.

  • Best IoT Projects from Autodesk Hackathon at ITMO

    On November 24 to 26, ITMO University’s Convergent Innovations Center hosted the three-day 3D hackathon organized by ITMO and Autodesk for the second time. Participants were tasked with creating projects using the cloud-based software Autodesk Forge, which lets users integrate interactive 3D models into web apps to solve practical problems.

  • ITMO University Opens Educational Courses on BIM Technologies in Building and Infrastructure Design

    ITMO University has launched an educational program for professional training in cooperation with OOO “Research and Development Center “Etalon””. The program is mainly dedicated to study of BIM technology. It can be used to account for all the properties and measurements of the building not only during construction, but also during its operational stage and to predict the possible faults in the structure as well as monitor its condition in real-time. By increasing their theoretical and practical knowledge through the program, specialists are able to work as BIM- managers, coordinators and modelers.
